On October 12, the unveiling ceremony for the Anhalt Institute of Intelligent Engineering and Sustainable Development (CUG-ANHALT) was successfully held on the campus of China University of Geosciences.

    Attendees included Jörg Bagdahn, President of Anhalt University of Applied Science (HSA); Lothar Koppers, Vice President of Anhalt University and Executive Vice Dean of CUG-ANHALT; Liu Jie, General Secretary of CPC Branch, China University of Geosciences; Li Jianwei, President of CUG; Xia Fan, Vice President of CUG and Dean of CUG-ANHALT; as well as heads of relevant faculties at CUG. The ceremony was presided over by Xia Fan.

    CUG President LI Jianwei stated that the institute marks a solid step forward in international cooperation, aiming to establish a new model through university-industry collaboration. It also bears the crucial mission of promoting educational internationalization and exploring new models for talent cultivation. The first cohort of undergraduate students will be enrolled in three programs: Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Geospatial Information Engineering, and Automation. The inaugural class will be the “pioneering cohort” of this China-Germany partnership.

    HSA President Bagdahn spoke highly of the efficiency of the cooperation, noting the complementary industrial systems of both countries and anticipating mutual benefits in intelligent manufacturing and sustainable development.
